Created the first website built on Notion
After buying the optemization.com, I spent a week wrestling with Webflow. I wanted a cool elegant website but I just couldn’t figure out the platform somehow (not the first time either).
This felt off because I had felt that I had mastered adjacent tools like Airtable, Squarespace, and Zapier. After another good round of sucking at it, I decided to build the website on Notion.
Mind you this was before Fruition, Potion or Super (tools to render Notion pages as websites) were even a thing. As a Notion ambassador, I had built public Notion pages for event RSVPs, so I knew I could do something here.
Long story short, I found a more powerful version of Bitly called Rebrandly and hacked a “website” together by connecting a Notion page and its sub-pages to unique Rebrandly links. Far from the best experience but it allowed me to publish something on the domain and track it. And I got some love from Twitter.
