Valentine, whom I hired as a part-time contractor in July, officially joined Optemization as the first hire in November 2020! This was my first time hiring anyone, so I was a bit nervous. However, we worked exceptionally well together, so we entertained the idea of him quitting his current job and taking the leap.
At the time, we were making about $4k in revenue and I had about $70k in the bank left from the initial investment. I don’t think it was the right decision in terms of risk mitigation, but I bet on him and it paid off immeasurably!
In the short term, he took over all the projects, which let me focus on growth, and, together, we doubled revenue.Â
In the long-term, we 7xed revenue and made a $70k profit in 2021. Valentine was a crucial part of this. Currently, he's my right-hand man and Project Delivery Director who manages a team of six. What a ride!
