And just like that first fiscal year came to a close. Even though the business lost just over twenty thousand dollars, I was happy with the result because it was revenue-generating and growing. At the very least, this venture made exactly $47,797.06 more money than my previous startup — progress! Thankfully, I had some financing to lean on. Otherwise, this growth would not be sustainable. Even if you’re starting a venture that’s not traditionally “venture-backable” I recommend, raising some money so that you can pursue growth and capitalize on opportunity instead of holding yourself back.
It was a year of many firsts. First client, first employee, first revenue, first website, first product, first talk/presentation, and first 5k followers on Twitter, who were so instrumental in helping grow the clientele and my personal brand. And we were just getting started :)
