FINDING ROBOTICS BASED SOLUTIONS FOR GAIT DISORDERS IN SRI LANKA

start a new research on Gait disorders.Most of the gait disorders in the world can’t be cured by medicines, they need special treatments and therapies. There is no proper research has been done in Sri Lanka to identify the gait disorders and major reasons for gait disorders in Sri Lanka. Therefore, it is required to identify gait patterns and disorders. Through this research Soft robotics & Robotics solutions will be introduced to help patients to achieve fine gait patterns and to cure the diseases.

Project Objectives

Identifying gait patterns/disorders in Sri Lanka and classifying. Identifying major reasons for gait disorders like cerebral palsy & parkinson disease.
Capturing/tracking/modeling and implementing the motion data of the people with the gait disorders.
Identifying/designing and implementing robotics based solution to support/rehabilitate people with gait disorders.
Suggesting better ergonomics for existing design such as prosthetic limbs to achieve a fine gait pattern.
