Usability testing


We used Zoom to communicate since Lookback does not allow the interviewer to communicate with the user. After unmuting the participant via Zoom, the echo stopped 

Provided scenarios and tasks to participants, who talked about their thoughts and some missing items that could be added to Smiling Mind.

Learnt the following from the user:
- User likes sleep, stress, relationship program
- Stress level is high esp in universities 5/5 due to exams, not understanding concepts
- Currently, it is 2/5. Working on illustrations and working on Memorisely prep tasks.
- Used calm as part of Memorisely prep tasks
- Preferred having a live counsellor in case the programs don't work
- When the user provided feedback before, the person felt that the feedback was heard
- Did not set a reminder to set habit before.
- Preferred a visual time like Calm since it is easier to use. The time selection seemed to be buggy
- Prefers morning since it is soothing to do meditation
- Likes the illustration
- Prefers not too long audio like 10 minutes. 2 to 3 minutes is fine.
- There is no way to access certain points of the audio like Spotify. User would want to fast forward

These are my following observations:
- For the 2nd zoom link, I forgot to record the initial few minutes, hence I had to request the user to summarise what was explained.
- Lookback should not pause the session when the user's phone locks down. This can make the interviewer nervous about losing the participant and I had to request the user to ensure that the phone does not lock due to inactivity
- The usability test took about 1 hour
- The user was very expressive
- I feel that the user was not being honest in a few instances the user mentioned that they would use the app because it is free (which proves the hypothesis that users won't be honest if you ask them if they would use it in future). Perhaps that question is a leading question.
- The user did not see the skip button when those surveys about feelings were popping up.
- Based on qualitative criteria, the user was able to complete the tasks.
