Usability testing on Margot Community's prototype
I have conducted a combination of unmoderated and moderated testing. The success metric for unmoderated usability testing is that there is no dropout rate. The success metric for moderated usability testing is that users can complete the task without my guidance.
Key takeaway
After conducting the moderated testing based on the alarming dropouts, I realized I could have kept the mission task very specific. For example- "You have booked with Hannah Vargas numerous times and, you trust her service. You have an upcoming interview and, you wish to pick Hannah's brain on how to ace it. Book a 20-min session with Hannah Vargas on 26th Aug". The drawback of keeping the task general is that users expect a full-fledged working prototype. They are not aware that the scope of the project is to concentrate on the most pressing issue. Therefore, it is crucial to communicate so with the users.
