Being LGBTQ+ in tech is sometimes very challenging. DEI is often only performative, if it even exists as a category in the minds of company founders. LGBTQ+ folks can find it harder to move up the career ladder, as many forces at play, some more visible than others, put folks down and push people back.
But many LGBTQ+ folks overcome these odds to build and grow great careers in product and tech.
I'd love to bring these voices together for a broad ranging discussion on the challenges, strategies, and approaches on how to thrive as a queer person in tech. But also to connect, network, and help build community.
Reach out if this sounds interesting for you!
I'm based in Berlin, Germany, so I'd look to either organize a physical event here, or a fully remote event!

Hi! I'm also an organizer of a queer-in-tech group(:q, colon-q) in South Korea. It's been a while to set up this group, but it's hard to create something productive and interesting meet up here. I would like to hear more about your insight!
Hi Jeongwon, I'd love to talk to you about your experience!
Definitely! It's amazing that you've already done so much work to prepare that. It would be just interesting enough to pull out how we think about this topic in each other's cultural context.
I have some material ! will share that sooon 👍
That's very useful insight! I think a lot of people are interested in coming to an event that is ready, and I've already gotten people offering to speak, which is amazing. But it will require some upfront legwork and prep, no doubt. 😅 Maybe we could hop on a call sometime soon to talk about what you did for your meetup? Would love to learn from your experience. Or read material if you have any to share! 😊
