That time that I got a critique from Music Connection...

If you're not familiar with it, well, it's a well-respected industry publication available in print and digitally.  I've subscribed to it for a few years now.

You might think that the critique doesn't sound very positive, but as far as my voice is concerned, they said what I thought they would say.  I feel like I'm reasonably objective about what I do well and what I do not, and I freely admit that I am NOT a singer.  I am insecure about my limitations as a vocalist, though I will say that I've been working on it, and I'm much better now than I was when I started.  (If you compare a song from my first album with one on the newest one, this will be clear.)

Now, I'm probably always going to release music where I'm the singer.  I mean, if I write the song and it's super personal, I probably want to be the one to sing it.  That said, I know how to listen to advice.  I'm working on writing an album right now where I won't sing on any of it.  I'm also part of a duo called WE MET IN PARIS, and I'm not the lead vocalist for that, either.
