Car Collective Taps Into Classic Ads to Bring Car Culture to Web3
When it comes to the Web3 space and NFTs, it's imperative that you have a grasp on market trends and what's driving demand. With that being said, it's more important for the projects you're working on to have a distinct feel and presence within the space itself. I kept this approach in mind when thinking about how to brand Car Collective, the first of its kind project with the ambitious goal to connect the global automotive community through Web3 tools.
Here's what we wanted to achieve as a foundation for the campaign:
- A unique representation compared to other projects in the space.
- Something we're able to create future products from.
- A nod to traditional car culture.
- An ability to showcase the artwork behind the NFTs.
Keeping these things in mind, we looked at vintage car ads from some of the most iconic brands as the perfect opportunity for us to reimagine. Instead of talking about the cars themselves, we'd use the "Ads" to talk about NFTs, Solana, and the role we're playing in Web3. We also saw these vintage car Ads as the potential onramp into future products like posters or sticker packs even.
Not only was this well received by the community at large, with being the most demanded content from Car Collective now, but now it's also being requested by internal community members and holders so they too can use it for their own minted NFT.
