The Drupal 8 Mobile Initiative was a concerted effort to make Drupal 8 a first-class mobile platform. As the lead of the initiative, I planned goals, organized volunteers, and led code sprints. We also wrote the Drupal CSS standards, garnering consensus to get them approved by the community, proving cats can be herded.
