It's time to flex this "Polywork" thing. I have need of a role that doesn't neatly fit into a traditional tech job description:
It's a little bit "Social Media Manager"...
It's a little bit "Social Media Manager"...
- You need to have great writing skills.
- You need to be fluent in the world of Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.
...but there's definitely a bit of "the programmer's mindset" needed as well:
- You should understand the basics of workflow automation and have had some experience fiddling with IFTTT, Zapier, etc.
- You have strong GoogleFu, and are savvy enough to find the right tools for the right job, eg. "I need to edit a photo - should a buy a license to Photoshop, or just use GIMP?"
A great love of cool cars (and cool car designs!) is a bonus.
Above all, this is a role where you will learn a lot, so you will have to be prepared to dive in and tackle new challenges every day, and put what you've learned into play almost immediately.
There is definitely potential for this role to grow a number of different ways into tech, marketing, or product, depending on what ends up being your cup of tea.
