MALU is an ode to women - a supercut of who she once was, is and who she could be. Inspired by Carl Jung’s theory of The Collective Unconscious, the signified 4 archetypes represent the sensuality deep within every Malay woman. This artbook is complementary to the exhibition, designed and executed through a provocative approach in order to spark a dialogue on the generational shame inherited/taught to Malay-Muslim women in the hopes to reconstruct a new identity for Her today. As you step into the world of the Collective Unconscious of your mind, you will meet the hidden parts of yourself. Through this journey of one’s self, shame and sensuality, the challenge posed on you are to search deep within and reflect on your own shame and begin the process of breaking down barriers to a better, truer version of yourself.
