This year I have participated in the European Space Agency's astronaut selection. It was a unique opportunity – Lithuanian citizens had a chance to become astronauts for the first time in history! (With all due respect to Rimantas Stankevičius, who was the first Lithuanian cosmonaut).

I thought I had odds in my favor since I had just received a Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering. After 6 months of waiting, I received a rejection email. I guess there's still room for growth! 😄
