Last year my brother bought me 12 books for my birthday in January. So I thought if I got through them all by the end of the year, that would be a considerable achievement.
Little did I know at the time that I would enjoy reading so much once I found my rhythm. In the end, I managed to read 60 books for the year. A lot of people have asked me how I have found so much time to read, and the honest answer is that I prioritised it over scrolling the internet or watching tv. To put this into context, the average person in UK and Ireland watches 3hours and 20mins of TV a day. That's 1213 hours a year or 50 days; you could read over 200 books in that time.
This year I want to form some new habits and solidify others. They will include mediation, learning a language, dance lessons, intermittent fasting and getting out in nature more.
What habits are you working on in 2022?
