“I live the focused life because it’s the best life to live” ~Winifred Gallagher
Deep Work: Professional activities performed in a state of distraction-free concentration that pushes your cognitive capabilities to their limit.
This week I've been reflecting on the concept of Deep-Work and how much of my day is optimised for it. I read Cal Newport's book 'Deep Work' back in March but was compelled to pick it back up.
Here are my takeaways:
⚖️Clarity about what matters provides clarity about what does not.
🎯 Inject intensity into your workday.
⏰ Where you’re spending your time decides how you build expertise and leverage.
♻️ Create a cadence of accountability.
💭 Downtime helps recharge the energy needed to work deeply.
