After I finished my degree I thought I was going to get a job "in data".
And I did!
But not like I expected to do. I'm now a remote secondary teacher. This is absolutely a data job, even though it's not the sort of role people might think of when presented with that label. I don't run statistical tests. I don't write code. I don't query databases.
Why's it a data job, then?
Because, when the normal interpersonal interaction between student and teacher are so attenuated, the performance data stands out even more. Classroom engagement becomes mostly data instead of mostly body language.
I work for a school system that is creating an innovative remote learning option within its district and it's a joy to be part of.
