This is a mixed media piece on 11x14 Bristol. It is an initial sketch and basecolor of watercolor, followed by painstaking detail with colored pencil.
The reference photo was taken at my parents' cabin, where my dad had split (roughly a cord?) of firewood. I split some of it too, actually!
I gave this to them for xmas one year.
