Micorsoft has two free resources to get certified:
- Microsoft Learn - an open course for their certifications
- Cloud Skills Challenges - end-to-end video study workshops
You would think because these two resources exist, there would be no point for me to make free certification courses and that is a question that is frequently asked by students considering what resources to use.
I think Microsoft providing these resources is great, and I think you should use them. But there are gaps, and for that reason I can still provide value in this space.
I think Microsoft providing these resources is great, and I think you should use them. But there are gaps, and for that reason I can still provide value in this space.
- I can compare against other cloud service providers in my instruction to reduce bias
- I can include additional content to align for real-word use-cases so I'm sneaking extra value in for the student
- If I see a new initialism, concept or term, I will take the time to break it down
- I am purposely seeking deficits in the public study material and docs to figure out how to fill those gaps when I produce a course
