Spent my Saturday afternoon at SIM Global Education with the group of students from SIM Innovation and Networking Society (IONS) sharing about the Entrepreneurial Mindset, What’s a Pitch Deck and how to better pitch their business idea.
Someone asked: “Based on the use cases you’ve seen, why do startups fail?”
My answer was simple. It’s mostly because of the founders. Its many factors of course; but it boils down to these - What is the real problem they are trying to solve? Is there really a need for that? And WHY do they want to do what they do? Apart from getting the right mentors and support along the way, if the founders are not exactly passionate about the problem or have a strong WHY to what they do, they will eventually fail. And I have seen many of that.
Thanks to Jeffrey Teo & the team for having me! Always happy to help, share and inspire the younger ones :)
